Marks Tey Heritage Project
Saturday 24 January from 10.30am to 3.30pm at St Andrews Church, Church Lane, Marks Tey, CO6 1LW.
This event is part of the Marks Tey Heritage Project and has been created to bring the local community together to explore and celebrate the rich history of St. Andrew's church. The day is completely free to attend and suitable for all ages. It has been shared in local Facebook groups and has been listed on Eventbrite for greater awareness but we would be really grateful if you could share with anyone who may be interested.
Highlights include:
• 10.30am Opening Talk from the granddaughter of famous stained glass artist Arthur Erridge
• Guided Tours exploring the stories behind the spires at midday and 2pm
• School Artwork and Poetry created by local children
• Family Activities including dressing up, metal detector fun and activity sheets
• Exhibition and Quiz to learn, explore and uncover hidden stories
• Oral History Station where visitors can share their memories
• Memory Wall for reflections and contributions
• Community Photo Board inviting people to bring old photos of the town, church or spires (or copies of old photos)
